Project Title: Major M&R Repairs of Concrete Wharf Location: US Coast Guard Sector Field Office Fort Macon/Atlantic Beach, North Carolina USCG: 70Z08320RPAC01000 / Subcontract Number: 200008R1 Type of Contract: Subcontractor; Firm Fixed Price Agency: U.S. Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit – Cleveland Contract Amount: $2,591,580.40 Contract Description: Major M&R Repair Concrete Wharf Perform above & underwater National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) Level II inspection of all concrete wharf pilings using in-house divers. Generate survey and report of existing marine structures and submit to U.S. Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit Cleveland for confirmation on type of repairs (structural or non-structural) for existing concrete piling. Remove existing marine growth, demolish spalled and unsound concrete on identified concrete pilings, install bulk zinc anodes, fiberglass cathodic protection pile jacket systems, place marine grade concrete into new pile jacket systems, and commission cathodic protection pile jacket systems. Removal and reinstallation of utilities, telecommunications system, water distribution hose connections, shore power connections and upper utility lines. Remove and replace mooring cleats and concrete filled steel bollards. Selective removal of fender systems to include vertical fender piles, fender boards, chain and foam filled fenders. Perform epoxy crack injection repairs, shallow concrete spall repairs and deep concrete spall repairs to existing concrete pilings. Perform epoxy crack injection repairs, shallow concrete spall repairs and deep concrete spall repairs to existing concrete pile caps. Perform epoxy crack injection repairs, shallow concrete spall repairs, and deep concrete spall repairs to existing concrete beams. Perform extensive shallow and deep concrete spall repairs and resurface underdeck. Perform above deck repairs Zone 2 (Bent 5-13) of shallow and deep concrete spall repairs, install methacrylate flood coating. Above deck repairs Zone 1 (Bent 1-4) of shallow and deep concrete spall repairs. Above deck repairs Zone 3 (Bent 14-21) of shallow and deep concrete spall repairs. Clean and resurface wharf concrete curbing. Replace above deck steel concrete joints with aluminum concrete joints. Replace fender system with new fender piles, timber fender boards, 1” stainless steel chain and new 3’x5’ foam filled fender systems. Demolish existing timber dolphin clusters and install/drive in place new seven pile timber dolphin clusters. Excavate behind existing concrete sheet pile bulkhead, install underwater 3-day forms using in-house divers, inject grout, remove 3-day forms, backfill and sod area behind concrete sheet pile bulkhead, and perform concrete bulkhead cap crack repairs
